Summer Update

No new blog entry since July. That is because we have been so busy with our Summer visitors there has been no time to update the blog.
Now that the schools have gone back we are a bit quieter and there is a little time to catch up.
It has been a busy summer if not the sunniest. August has been particularly wet but it does not seem to have dampened the enjoyment of our passengers.
Because it has been so busy there is not much news. Everyone has been beavering away getting the boats sailing on time and looking after all our passengers. We are now into September and it is officially Autumn but the sun is out and the loch looks beautiful. The purple Heather is in bloom on the hills above Loch Ness and soon the bracken and the trees will be turning a beautiful Autumn gold - a perfect time of the year to visit Scotland.
Our seasonal staff are now leaving us and going back to college and university so a big thank you for all their efforts during the season. We could not have done it without them.
The Jacobite Crew had a night out at the Inverness Ice Rink where they had an Ice Karting evening. A great time was had by all and no quarter was given during the races.
Jennifer, our office manager, has been selected to go on a trip, sponsored by Jacobite, to Guatamala. She goes out to Guatamala City in February for two weeks to help a charity involved in childrens' day centres and orphanages. We will keep you up to date on progress.
The Jacobite Spirit has her new Sonar and it is proving popular with our passengers. Only the Jacobite Legend has to be fitted with one now and then all three boats will be able to scan for unusual happenings beneath the waters of Loch Ness.
There is another Robert Rines expedition working in Urquhart Bay for the next two weeks conducting survey work with the latest equipment. They are working with three remote underwater vehicles as well as very sophisticated sonar equipment. We await the outcome of the research.
Hopefully another update soon.
