Seven Wonders of Nature competition

Loch Ness is nominated in a new "Seven Wonders of Nature" campaign led by Swiss adventurer Bernard Weber. The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Mount Everest and Loch Ness are among 221 natural sites competing to become the New 7 Wonders of Nature in a global poll that is expected to draw around a billion voters.

A panel of nature experts, chaired by Federico Mayor, former chief of UNESCO, will reduce the list to 21 finalists in July.
