Glenurquhart Road, Inverness. IV3 5TD
These all leave from Inverness city centre where a Jacobite coach will collect you for the start of your trip
Easy to find, Strothers Lane runs between Inverness bus and rail stations, just off Academy Street. The pick-up point is opposite TK Maxx store.
You'll find this on the bank of the River Ness (hence the name) close to the Mercure Hotel. Look for the bus stop with the small Jacobite sign at the top.
Alternatively, you may wish to maker your own way to the departure point for cruises on the Reflection and Discovery tours. They both leave from Tomnahurich Bridge so just follow these directions:
By car: Tomnahurich Bridge is just 1.5 miles from the centre of Inverness. Follow signs for the A82 Fort William. This will take you along Glenurquhart Road(look out for the Highland Council offices on your left).
The entrance to Jacobite's offices, where the boat leaves from is a small turning on the left hand side just as you finish crossing the Caledonian Canal Bridge.
By foot: if you're walking from the city centre it should take you about 30 minutes. It's a lovely walk along the River Ness but don't forget you'll need to turn away from the river and head towards the Aquadome and the Floral Hall both of which are well sign posted. The Floral Hall also has a small cafe serving teas and good home baking
From Inverness follow the A82 signs for Fort William. Continue on the A82 and approximately 3 miles after you leave Inverness you will see the turn off for Dochgarroch Lock on your left hand side
Loch Ness, Inverness. IV3 8LA
These two boat trips leave directly from the Clansman Harbour at the Clansman Hotel. You will need a car to get here. We don't recommend relying on public transport for these trips - we've heard too many stories of buses failing to stop of forgetting to collect people.
And if you use a car sat nav system to plan your trips here's a small word of warning. For reasons we've not quite been able to fathom yet - and if anyone does know the answer please tell us - tapping in the postcode for the Clansman Hotel (IV3 8LA if your interested) will have you heading into the hills near a charming little village called Abriachan.
So while it's a lovely place it's the wrong place - or it is if you've booked one of our cruises.
Much better instead to follow the instructions here. Getting to the Clansman Harbour
If you're coming from Inverness - and you take your starting point as the outskirts of the city - the Clansman Hotel is about 9 miles on the main A82. It's on the right hand side of the road and is easy to spot. If your travelling from the Fort William direction the Clansman is 4 miles from Drumnadrochit.
Storthers Lane runs between Inverness bus and rail stations just off Academy Street. The pick-up point is opposite TK Maxx store
Bank street runs along the riverside and the jacobite coach stops between "The Mustard Seed Restaurant" and "Mercure Hotel" outside Dr Black's Memorial Hall.
Bridge Street can be found below the Visitor Information Centre.
