A MONSTER welcome greets visitors at Inverness Airport

Passengers arriving into Inverness Airport on Friday were treated to a monster welcome to the Highlands.

We brought the shores of Loch Ness to the airport, transforming the baggage carousel into the Caledonian Canal as we flooded it with hundreds of Loch Ness Monster soft toys while visitors waited for their luggage.

Our very own Jacobite Jess was also on hand to greet guests and pose for a few ‘monster selfies’.

Those who picked up a toy from the luggage belt were also offered the chance to come and say hello to us at the loch and search for the world famous monster themselves with free tickets for a cruise.

Our MD Freda loves welcoming visitors to the Highlands, “We enjoyed partnering with Inverness Airport to show visitors some real Highland hospitality. With more tourists visiting the Highlands, it was a great opportunity to showcase our attraction. Last year was our most successful year yet for visitor numbers and Inverness Airport experienced a similar trend with a rise in traffic.

“Our passengers are always really excited at the prospect of catching a glimpse of Nessie so we wanted to share the Loch Ness experience with visitors the moment they arrive in the area.”

Business has boomed in the past year, as we welcomed a record-breaking 224,000 visitors on board, many of them arriving to the Highlands through Inverness Airport.

We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to welcome them!
