The beautiful haunting shores of Loch Ness are the stunning backdrop for the new six-part TV drama “The Loch”, as we exclusively revealed last year.
Starting tonight, at 9pm on ITV, the plot centres on a community nourished and sustained by myth and bordered by untamed nature. Viewers will discover how the search for a serial killer becomes a matter of life and death for local detective Annie Redford who is trying to cope with her first murder case.
In tonight’s episode, beneath the waters of Loch Ness, we see the pigment bleached body of an unidentified middle-aged man, stones tied to his ankles.
On her day off, Detective Sergeant Annie Redford is called upon by her boss DCI Frank Smilie to clear up a gory prank, which reporters are claiming, with tongue in cheek, to be the washed-up remains of the Loch Ness Monster.
Annie, with a raging hangover, heads to the lochside where the inexperienced PC Jason Denny helps her clear up the decaying animal entrails. Among the remains Jason finds a heart!
The drama is written by Stephen Brady (well known for his scripts for “Vera”, “ Silent Witness” and others) and stars Scottish actress Laura Fraser, of “Breaking Bad” fame, and the great John Sessions. It should be a must-see thriller drama.
Executive Producer Tim Haines commented: “Serial killers are monsters that lie beneath the surface of normal happy communities. Where better to hunt for one than in a place that has thrived off its own monster myth for centuries – Loch Ness.”
Of course, you can also immerse yourself in the real mystery of Loch Ness by visiting here in person. We’d by pleased to welcome you on one of our cruises and share the thrills, drama and tales of the Loch Ness Monster.
