Frequently asked questions

When can I cruise with Jacobite?

362 days a year. We leave Nessie in peace on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day!

Do I need to book?

To avoid disappointment you really should, especially in summer. And it's very easy to do at www.jacobite.co.uk or on 01463 233999.

Do children go free?

Your little Nessie spotters under the age of 5 go free on our loch cruises, but not on our Coach & Cruise options – Sensation, Passion, Discovery and Temptation.

What should I wear?

Wear layers, as temperatures on the loch vary. But don't worry too much as all Jacobite boats have covered and heated areas for when things get a bit nippy when you're hunting for Nessie!

Can I buy something to eat on board?

We serve a selection of Scottish produce, hot and cold drinks, light snacks and a wee dram from our bar. But please, do not feed the monster!

Do you have toilets on board?

Yes, you'll never get caught short while sailing the length of the loch!

Do your boats have wheelchair access?

Cruises from Tomnahurich Bridge are suitable for wheelchair users and anyone with restricted mobility, but please note there are some fairly steep steps to the toilet on board. It's best to call the office to check availability.

Some cruises from Dochgarroch are suitable for wheelchair users and people with restricted mobility, please call 01463 233999 to check prior to booking.

Cruises from Clansman Harbour are not suitable for wheelchair access or for people with restricted mobility.

Is there WiFi available on board?

Yes, there's FREE WiFi on board. But we really don't recommend surfing on Loch Ness!

Are pets allowed on board?

Your furry friends are welcome on board the Reflection, Contemplation and Inspiration tours. But keep an eye on them, as Nessie gets a little peckish in-between meals!
