Festival is Music to our ears

Noah Noah, Apache Darling, and The Strives are names that will be stirring up the crowds here before the end of June.

They are headline acts in XPONorth, Scotland’s leading festival for the creative industries that takes place in Inverness from 27th to 28th June.

The festival will be centred around and within Eden Court Theatre, on the banks of the River Ness, and in easy walking distance of the city centre.

On the music front, there will be more than 60 of the hottest acts from the Highlands, from all genres, performing at various venues throughout Inverness.

They will include acts like traditional and Gaelic singing duo Brian Ă“ hEadhra and Fiona Mackenzie and local lass Tamzene.

The festival will also feature a curated film showcase with more than 50 films to be screened over the two-day event.

Head of HIE's Creative Industries Iain Hamilton said: “We're delighted with the quality and diversity of the films featuring in this year’s programme. The submission process attracted a an incredible number of entries from across the global market place and highlights the importance of XPONorth as a platform for filmmakers to showcase their work to a regional, national, and international audience.

“A treat for the eyes and a feast for the ears, we're confident this year’s film showcase will leave audiences captivated”

The other main and important element of XPONorth is BFI Games Day in partnership with Creative Scotland.

It is a mini-conference exploring business, culture, and community in the Scottish and wider UK video games industry, one of the fastest growing creative sectors.

There will also be a great opportunity to discover new games from local creators in an exhibition space and relax and connect at the networking reception.
