Ticket Sales & Mooring Assistant: Dochgarroch Lock/Clansman Harbour

Jacobite Loch Ness Cruises would like to recruit a ticket sales / mooring assistant based at Dochgarroch Lock and Clansman Harbour on a temporary basis for the busy 2025 season. The contract runs to September/October 2025. Full-time preferred however flexible hours available; shift flexibility and weekend working is required. Hours will normally be 0745 / 0900 - 1700 / 1745.
We are looking for a motivated individual to carry out ticket sales and mooring duties so we can continue ensuring that Jacobite Loch Ness Cruises customers can tick Loch Ness off their bucket list! You will efficiently check-in our passengers using our integrated booking system ensuring our passengers are kept informed and assisted at all times and you will maintain the highest level of customer service to preserve our 'Monster Reputation for Excellence'.
Jacobite Loch Ness Cruises is a Visit Scotland 5* visitor attraction based at Dochgarroch Lock (4 miles South of Inverness city centre) and has been providing cruises on Loch Ness for over 20 years. You will report to Dochgarroch Lock where transport will be provided to the Clansman Harbour. Alternatively, if it's more suited to your commute, you can report directly to the Clansman Harbour.
The Role and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Skipper in the efficient and accurate recording of passengers.
- Sell and process our passenger tickets ensuring accurate transactions and banking processes are followed every day.
- Process and complete group bookings.
- Assist the Skipper to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is delivered.
- Assist as shore crew to moor our vessels (full training provided)
- Assist with preparation of stock and daily replenishing of stores.
- Direct passengers in accordance with procedures in the event of an emergency.
- Provide information to passengers on points of local interest etc.
- Report any customer / operational issues to the skipper.
- Assist with cleaning as required.
- Provide 5* customer care at all times
Person Specification:
- Friendly and approachable with a willingness to initiate meaningful conversations
- Conscientious with attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills
- Good communication and numeracy skills
- Demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving
- Cash handling and daily banking experience proffered
- A strong customer service background is desirable
- Previous experience not required as full training will be provided
- Willingness to participate in on-going training and personal development
- Excellent timekeeping

Kitchen Porter (no evenings) – An Talla
An Talla is recruiting! An Talla is a busy café & retail destination on the banks of the Caledonian Canal at Dochgarroch Lock - 3 miles South on the A82 and part of Jacobite Loch Ness Cruises.
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and supporting our chefs and kitchen staff.
This position is 30-40 hours per week between 9am - 4:30pm 5 days from 7.
This position is seasonal with the potential to become permanent.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas are clean and sanitised.
- Dishwashing: Operate dishwashing machines and wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment manually when needed.
- Food Preparation: Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Waste Disposal: Properly dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in waste disposal areas.
- Stock Management: Unload deliveries, organise storage areas, and ensure food supplies are stored correctly.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Support: Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and report any maintenance or repair issues to management.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or kitchen management.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen.
- Strong communication.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
- Flexibility to work daytime shifts, including weekends.
