That's a wrap!

The 16th festival was made even more prominent as Inverness local turned Hollywood star, Karen Gillan attended the festival. This year, Karen attended the festival under a director’s role as she debuted her new film “the Party is just beginning”. The storyline follows Liusaidh as she rebuilds her life after her best friend takes his own life. Karen said the inspiration for this came after hearing of the high suicide rates in males living in the Highlands of Scotland.

The showing of the film was followed by a Q&A. Karen looked effortlessly chic in a trouser and T combination, with flawless makeup by local talent Gillan Hoban, and enviable curls by the amazing Suzanne Mcmahon.

Movie stardom continued to beckon for the locals of Inverness, as Loch Ness’ very own resident and media personality Steve Feltham. Alexander Farrell stumbled across Steve and was completely invested in his unusual lifestyle and quest for the Loch Ness monster. Having sparked curiosity with the director, Farrell is now considering making a movie about Steve’s lifestyle.

Steve has assured us all that no matter how famous he becomes he is not giving up his quest for Nessie! Steve is not new to the filming game as he was an early contributor to the BBC program Video Diaries- in August 1992.

It has been movie madness here at Loch Ness, with a further two film crews joining us on the shores filming documentaries. Both Fuji Television from Japan and Prometheus Films from Los Angeles were filming for travel channels showcasing Loch Ness, Inverness and the Highlands. Both documentaries will feature our very own Willie Cameron as he tells all on his sighting in August 2016 and his late fathers in 1965.

And that’s a wrap! It’s been a great week in the city for the locals and visitors. We hope you all enjoyed your stay in the highlands and of course managed to squeeze in a cruise on Loch Ness. Still here? We sail 7 days a week 363 days of the year!
